Planta Carnivora

Hace unas semanas quise participar en el Character Design Challenge, donde el tema del mes era ‘planta carnívora’. No logré terminarlo en su momento por trabajo, pero la idea me gustó tanto que decidí completarlo después. Quizá un poco cruel, tal vez… pero bueno, así es la vida.

A few weeks ago, I wanted to participate in the Character Design Challenge, where the theme of the month was ‘carnivorous plant.’ I didn’t have time to finish it back then because of work, but I liked the idea so much that I decided to complete it later. Maybe it’s a bit cruel… but hey, that’s life.

Luminia es mi  proyecto de graduación para el grado de Licenciatura en la carrera de 

Animación Digital en la Universidad LCI Veritas. El proyecto esta compuesto por artes 

}conceptuales, diseñado para crear secciones de un videojuego de aventura/fantasía 

en una perspectiva Top-Down, con el propósito de producir, en el futuro, variantes 

utilizando el material creado. O sea, se busca sentar las bases para un mundo donde 

otros estudiantes puedan contribuir creando objetos o personajes adicionales 

para enriquecer dicho mundo, o expandir y complementar con sus respectivas habilidades 

y destrezas.

Todo lo presentado en este proyecto es de mi propia autoría. 

Luminia is my graduation project for the Bachelor's degree in Digital Animation at Universidad

 LCI Veritas. The project is composed of conceptual art, designed to create sections of an

 adventure/fantasy video game in a top-down perspective, with the purpose of producing, 

in the future, variants using the created material. In other words, the goal is to establish 

the foundations for a world where other students can contribute by creating additional 

objects or characters to enrich that world, or expand and complement it with their respective 

skills and abilities. 

All presented in this project is my own work.

Noa y el Planeta de los Workish es uno de varios cuentos de una iniciativa que fomenta la creatividad a través de cuentos; llamada Coloria. Coloría me ha proporcionado una historia la cual he tenido que traducir en ilustraciones y una pequeña animación.

Coloria tiene una plataforma digital educativa de cuentos inacabados donde el final lo creas tú mediante la escritura y el dibujo. Podrás disfrutar de cuentos, desplegar tu creatividad creando finales, y descubrir finales que han escrito niños y niñas de todo el mundo.

Noa and the Planet of the Workish" is one of several stories from an initiative that promotes creativity through stories called Coloria. Coloria has provided me with a story that I had to translate into illustrations and a short animation.

Coloria has an educational digital platform of unfinished stories where you create the ending through writing and drawing. You can enjoy stories, unleash your creativity by creating endings, and discover endings that children from all over the world have written.

Para este proyecto lo primero fue tomar el cuento diseccionar el cuento para empezar a visualizarlo.

For this project, the first step was to take the story and dissect it in order to begin visualizing it.

Luego hice unos bocetos bien básicos ya que lo que mas me importa es ir dando orden en imágenes simples a mis ilustraciones. 

Then I made some very basic sketches because what matters most to me is to start giving structure to my illustrations with simple images.

Y con las ideas un poco mas claras procedo a hacer la búsqueda de como representar de manera visual lo que creo que deberían comunicar los personajes. 

And with the ideas a bit clearer, I proceed to search for how to visually represent what I believe the characters should communicate."

La adaptación de libro a audiovisual requirió ajustes a la composición e inclusive algunos planos exclusivos para este formato. A continuación están algunos de esos ajustes y uno con el proceso que llevan de boceto a animación final.

The adaptation from book to audiovisual required adjustments to the composition, including some shots exclusively designed for this format. Below are some of these adjustments, along with the process from sketch to final animation to one of them.

Finalmente este es una trailer del del corto animado.

80s Nostalgia Cave

Esta animación terminó llevando a un proyecto completamente diferente en el que continuo trabajando, 

pero la comparto porque me gusta.
